Hospital Medicine
The hospitalists at CPC Multi-Specialty Group are physicians and other medical providers who specialize in caring for you when you are hospitalized. They work exclusively in the hospital and have an expert understanding of what it takes to provide proper inpatient care as well as hospital protocols and requirements.
Twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, our hospitalists ensure high-priority care during your stay in the hospital. Hospitalists spend their entire workday at the hospital, so they are available for your admission or emergency. Rest assured that should you be hospitalized, we will care for you in the same manner as your own primary care physician, ordering treatments, tests, and consulting with specialists, when needed.
Hospital medicine is a hands-on medical specialty that translates to better care for hospitalized patients and better use of hospital resources. It can help shorten your length of stay in the hospital, so you can get back to the comfort of your home and your usual routine. After you are discharged from the hospital, your family medicine or internal medicine doctor will once again by your primary healthcare provider.
How Our Hospitalists Benefit You
When you are hospitalized and receive care from CPC hospitalists, you benefit in the following specific ways:
- Highest Quality of Care – Having a dedicated hospital physician with complete knowledge of the hospital system results in a higher level of care for you.
- Patient Satisfaction – Hospitalized patients no longer have to wait until regular office hours are over to receive the care they deserve. Typically, your hospitalist will make multiple evaluations a day on your recovery progress and overall health. Hospitalists can also be more accessible to you and your family members.
- One Medical Record – We will have access to your CPC electronic health record, which provides important information about your medical history, current medications, and more – and directly impact your care while hospitalized.
Type of Care Hospitalists Provide
The type of medical care our hospitalists provide will depend on the reason you’re in the hospital in the first place. In general, hospitalists provide general medical care. They may also lead the medical team assisting you while you’re hospitalized. Hospitalists may do everything from assessing your condition after you’re admitted, ordering diagnostic testing, treating you and performing a wide range of medical procedures, depending on your needs.
When our hospitalists are not providing patient care, they may be called upon to teach medical residents or students, assume leadership positions at the facility, as well as participate in ongoing research that will improve the hospital’s ability to best treat patients.
